Ricomincia dopo la sosta estiva l’attività di Trieste is Rock..e ricomincia con una serata degna del clima torrido estivo che ci sta asfissiando in questa estate..sarà una serata caldissima!!

CIRCUS MAXIMUS:
Da Oslo gli ex bambini prodigio del Prog Metal scandinavo, ora son cresciuti e son pronti a riconquistare l’Italia!
I Circus Maximus sono il gruppo melodic progressive metal più famoso della Norvegia. Nascono ad Oslo, nel 2000, quando un gruppo di compagni di scuola, Michael “Mikey” Eriksen (vocalist) e i fratelli Mats (chitarrista) e Truls Haugen (batterista) si uniscono al tastierista Espen Storø (presto sostituito dal talentuoso Lasse Finbråten) e al bassista Glen Møllen, formando così i Circus Maximus, nome che deriva da un videogioco. Il loro album d’esordio, The 1st Chapter, (2005) riscuote buone recensioni e critiche dalla stampa musicale internazionale, facendo proseliti tra i fans di bands più famose quali Dream Theater, Symphony X, Fates Warning e Queensryche. Ma è nell’Agosto del 2007 che il capolavoro “Isolate” li fa distinguere anche al di fuori della Scandinavia, grazie ad un sound più maturo e più originale rispetto al loro debut album. Girano il mondo suonando con le band principali del filone Prog Metal (Queensryche, Symphony X, ecc…) partecipando ai più prestigiosi Festival Europei. Nel 2012, dopo cinque lunghi anni di silenzio, la loro evoluzione artistica si completa con il complicatissimo “Nine” con canzoni ricche di melodie mischiate ad elementi musicali power metal, sempre ricche di sintetizzatori e tastiere, ma con sonorità ancor più moderne, accostabili ai Muse. I vickinghi torneranno per un mini tour in Italia, Germania e Svizzera, dopo esser stati protagonisti in Giappone (al famoso “Loud Park 12 Special” nel Febbraio di quest’anno) e nella vetrina più illustre del mondo, (per la seconda volta), al prestigioso “Prog Power Festival” ad Atlanta (USA)…poteva mancare Trieste?
Al Macaki ci sarà un vero e proprio Festival Prog & Metal con i nostrani Bluerose, gli svizzeri Appearance of Nothing, i capitolini D.G.M. (forse la band italiana più famosa della scena prog, il loro ultimo “Momentum” è stato “disco del mese” in quasi tutte le riviste specializzate italiane) per amanti di Porcupine Tree, Pink Floyd, Muse ma anche Dream Theater e Queensryche.

“Their acclaimed debut album, “The 1st Chapter”, made Circus Maximus a household name in progressive metal and they were deeply appreciated by the the loyal fans of the genre . Their sophomore masterpiece “Isolate” (2007) took them to the next level of prog-metal stardom and the band toured with big names like Symphony X and Queensryche. After 5 years of touring and recording, Circus Maximus returned with their 3rd album, “Nine”, and showed their most mature and elaborate recording to date. “Nine” debuted at no.14 on the American Billboard charts for up and coming bands and high on the Scandinavian charts.
Since the release of their latest effort, the band has toured extensively and has performed and headlined festivals like ProgPower Europe, ProgPower USA, PPM festival in Belgium and the Loud Park in Japan to mention a few.
Now the band is coming back to Italy.
